Sample UAE second-agent map: vitamins and natural health

The client in this sample is illustrative: a European maker of vitamins and herbal over-the-counter products, about ten general sale (GSL) registrations, one current agent in Dubai. The agent data is real, read on 19 October 2026 from the Emirates Drug Establishment (EDE) public directory and from each agent's own website. 1. Why this map exists

- A registered commercial agent keeps exclusivity under Federal Law No. 3 of 2022 unless agreed otherwise, and removing or diluting it can lead to compensation claims; older agencies have transitional protection to 15 June 2025, or to 15 June 2033 where the agent has held the registration for more than ten years or invested more than AED 100 million. Our reading: the second agent should cover what the first one does not (another emirate, another channel), carry no brand that competes with yours, and be approached only after you have read your current agency contract with UAE counsel. This map is market research, not legal advice.
2. Bottom line
- Approach first: Gulf Drug and GIGI Medical Store. Gulf Drug brings scale and a consumer health retail division with a published partnership address; GIGI covers Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, which complements a Dubai agent, and labels no vitamin or natural brands.
- Approach if your range does not overlap theirs: Metromed (Metropolitan Medical Marketing) and Arabian Ethicals. Both have partnership intake routes; both carry brands that may compete (Additiva multivitamins at Metromed, Himalaya at Arabian Ethicals).
- Do not approach for this client: New Country Healthcare, A S D International, Pharmalink, Pharmatrade, Muscat Pharmaceutical Trading, Triangle Medical Trading. Each already carries or owns competing vitamin or natural lines.
- Insufficient public information: Awafi Drug Store, Vital Star Drug Store, Al Jawdha Medical Store, Global Medical Supplychain (no website, no published contact, very small, or hospital logistics only).
3. The candidates
"EDE GSL and natural" counts the agent's registrations classed GSL Products or Natural Source Medicines; "EDE total" counts all its registrations. Both come from the directory as published on 19 October 2026, which then listed 1,179 products and is still being loaded, so treat counts as a floor.
